- La pierre sculptee / The Book of Time (2006)
- Les sept pieces / Gate Of Days (2007)
- Le Cercle d'or / The Circle Of Gold (2009)
The book is written by Guillaume Prévost, born November 11, 1964 in Tananarive, Madagascar. Works as a history professor and a French writer and author of historical detective novels such as 'De Livre Du Temps' series, "The Assassin and the Prophet", "The Mystery of the Dark Room" and so on. Now, to the content. The story follows along Sam Faulkner, the main character, whom is a 14-year-old boy that accidentally became a time traveller after his father went missing. Sam finds a strange statue and a coin that allows him to travel through time. Using the magical statue, he travels through ancient Egypt, France during World War I, 800 AD Scotland and other historical segments before his cousin Lily helps him return home. Along the way, he gathers a large cache of the coins that he finds in the various locations that he visits. The novel has interesting elements of fantasy while still being able to keep up historical accuracy, recepting from various critics as "action-packed" and "lively and captivating". I do have to warn though, the third volume is a bit different from the past volumes, but still good nonetheless albeit the ending is definitely not what I expected.
